Rooms
There are four large rooms downstairs with high ceilings; a family living room, formal parlor, dining room, and kitchen. A stairway leads upward to a large hall and three bedrooms on the second floor. The house has four chimneys for the fireplace, and wood burning stoves that heat the rooms and cook the food in the kitchen. All of the rooms have beaded ceilings, and the door and window facings have sculptured corner moldings Original wallpapers have been reproduced.
January 13 - March 13
"Goodbye To All That" This exhibit is a look back at smoking through display of smoking memorabilia - ashtrays, matchbooks, lighters, smoking jacket, pipes, cigar items, etc.
April 7 - June 5
"Ladies in the Kitchen" Aprons and kitchen utensils on display will help visitors look back at the role of the kitchen in the home.
June 16 - August 21
"Leisure Time Before Television" Sewing and needlework pieces will be on display along with notions.
September 1 - October 30
"Shadow Boxes" The Victorians created the art form of shadow boxes as a way to display keepsakes and treasures.
October 16
"Hot-Diggity Hog Fest" Annual Fundraiser featuring pulled pork prepared on site. Entertainment and activities vary each year. Come spend the day with us!
November 17 - December 31
"An Old Fashion Christmas" Antique Christmas decorations and antique toys will fill the house.
